Every man created by God is endowed with certain potential, hence the need for one to indentify ,explore and exploit ones talent or gift for self actualization and for the benefit of humanity .
Our correspondent spotted groups of young boys and ladies engaging in various jobs through which they earn their living and also provide goods and service to others.
A visit to Tarzan and Obodo Ukwu Road Onitsha indicates that while majority of Nigerians are experiencing acute hardship following the economic recessions, some youths have braced to the challenge by putting their time into meaningful ventures.
These boys were seen in groups of eight and two engaging in the sale of confectionaries, while some were seen mixing flour and frying, others were attending to their customers.
Speaking in an interview, the leader of the eight team, mr Paul Agbor, who hails from Cross River State, said they graduated from University and have not been able to secure a job and decided to venture into skilful venture, in order to help themselves. According to him, they are making a living out of it.
He enjoined other youths to utilize their time productively instead of wasting their time waiting for non existent white collar job, and indulging in nefarious activities.
Also speaking, the leader of the two, Mr Kenneth Isaac who hails from Enugu State,disclosed that he earned up with his brother who learnt bakery to start up the business.
According to him the business bid lucrative.
On his part, a pop corn maker, Mr Somtochukwu Ude from Enugu State, said he has been in the business for the past six months, adding that he is satisfied with what he makes out of it. A hair stylist, Mrs Chinyere Okejieme,said she plaits up to two or three persons hair everyday depending the style and goes home with a reasonable amount of money. She intimated that the business has been sustaining her family.
