With the introduction of viewing centers many years ago, a lot of people have joined football fan clubs, to make ends meet.

Such centers turned betting outlets are usually filled to capacity with people who are anxiously waiting for the outcome of their bets.

Many times, a walk into such centers, reveal both the young and old as viewers.

The question now is, are they viewing for love of the game or for anticipation of a win? And do they really win?

A civil servant, Mr. Chiedozie Uba says he bets to augment his salary and had been able to complete his building in his village through one of his wins.

For Prince Chike however, he only bet with little amount of money so as not to be disappointed if he loses.

Onyeka Uche, said he has spent over five thousand naira within the week without a single win.

Analysts are saying that many of these desires for quick wealth could be as a result of the value placed on affluence in this part of the globe.
