Two portraits of Lionel Messi have raised over $1m for a UNICEF charity campaign tagged ‘1 in 11’

According to reports, the first artwork of the Argentina’s superstar by British artist, Damien Hirst in which Messi is seen in the middle of several footballs, went for $556,000 at an auction in London while the second one by Japan’s Takashi Murakami where he is seen striking a kick on a ball, went for $483,000.

The money will go to a UNICEF-backed campaign called, ‘1 in 11’ which seeks to provide education to children around the world.
