Death is said to be the inevitable end for all mortal.
This assertion was brought to the fore as the ABS family received corpse of their fallen college, Mr Christopher Nwoye Mbanefo, amidst tears at the corporate headquarters of the station in Awka.
Speaking during the commendation service, Reverend Canon Basil Orji of the programmes Department of the ABS, described the death of late Mr Mbanefo as unexpected, noting that the deceased was a man of peace who ran away from troubles and wondered why bad things should happen to good people.
Canon Orji advised the living to always be conscious of death and as well make conscious effort to live a righteous life so that when ever death comes calling they can stand before God justified.
While praying God to console the Mbanefo family of Awkuzu, Oyi Council area, and the ABS family, canon Orji called on people to Always go for periodic medical check-ups noting that this can go a long way in preventing some avoidable deaths.
In his remark, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Nze Uche Nworah, expressed deep regret at the death of the deceased and called on the entire staff to use the occasion to reflect on how they relate with each other, stressing the need for unity of mind and purpose among the staff.
Nze Nworah admonished the staff to eschew rivalry and backstabbing which can destroy the establishment nothing that they should rather come together as one, unit the station adding that Governor Willie Obiano has done so much for the ABS and it was high time the staff did something for the station.
Filing past the casket of the deceased by the ABS family formed the highpoint of the service.
The corpse later left for the Ekwuaganaba Adagbe Ifite Umueri village Awkuzu, home town of the deceased for burial proper.
