The State Police Command has arrested one Prophet Ekene Adoji who allegedly assaulted a thirteen year old boy after a night vigil at his church, Jesus Miracle Ministries, Ifite Awka.
He was said to be on the run since the nineteenth of August, 2016 when the crime occurred.
According to report, the so called prophet, was snuggled back to the church in a booth of a vehicle and on getting to the church premises, was apprehended by the Police men who were standing by.
Parading the suspect, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state Mrs Nkiru Nwode said two separate medical reports from Amaku and Police Hospital, clearly indicated that there was a canal knowledge of the boy.
Mrs Nwode who said investigations are still on going to unravel the truth of the matter, noting that the suspect will be charged to court soon.
The PPRO, advised the people to always be mindful of places they go to in the name of church, warning parents to know the where about of their children at every point.
Reacting to the allegation, the suspect Prophet Ajodi denied ever having canal knowledge of Abuchi whom he admitted was at his church on the day of the incident.
Meanwhile, the suspect is remanded in the police custody for further investigation.
