Governor Willie Obiano’s Awka Capital Territory development strategy has been receiving accolades from well meaning citizens.
A former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Dr. Kanayo Enemuo said the three flyovers in the Awka capital territory are evidence that the governor is committed the development of the territory, adding that a lot still needs to be done in the capital territory in the areas of roads such as the rehabilitation to open up more roads in Awka.
Dr. Enemuo who was a onetime Commissioner for lands, Housing and Urban Development, suggested that government should provide houses for the low income group to complement its present laudable housing scheme.
On his part, a former chairman of the Awka branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, Dr. Emmanuel Okechukwu (Junior) described governor Obiano as the Governor among his contemporaries who has shown more commitment to the development of the Awka capital territory.
Mr. Okechukwu Junior further acknowledged Governor Obiano’s administration for keying into the United Nations Green House Policy by embarking on the one million tree planting campaign in the state.
He said government has done well in providing three flyovers at the Aroma, Kwata and Amawbia junctions and suggested that three more flyovers be constructed in Awka.
