The State Government is to construct a Pedestrian crossing at Regina Caeli Junction in Awka.
Governor Willie Obiano who announced this when he inaugurated Roban Stores in Awka, said the project will commence next month and will be completed by January next year.
According to Governor Obiano, the Project is aimed at easing the stress on pedestrians in crossing the expressway which usually experience heavy traffic, to reduce accidents at the junction and to enable people on the other side of the town patronize the new business outlet.
The governor who assured that his administration will continue to create the enabling environment that will encourage investors to seek wealth creating opportunities in the state, noted that so far, about 4.7million US dollars have been attracted in investments in the state, with a major quotient being done by Ndi Anambra.
He explained that this laudable achievements was made possible through the instrumentality of ANSIPPA which was set up to coordinate investments activities in the state as well as the innovation of land bank through which lands are made available to prospective investors in communities with comparative advantage in their specific investment areas.
Governor Obiano promised that the State Government will provide adequate security to enable the Store operate 24hours, and urged the investor to utilize the investment to create jobs for the people.
The Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Mrs Amaka Ilobi said the present administration is not only making the clarion call on Ndi Anambra to bring their wealth home but also matching his words with action in providing security and the necessary structure for investments to thrive.
Earlier, the Managing Director of the Stores, Sir Robert Anwuatu while thanking Governor Obiano for creating the enabling environment for him to bring his wealth into the state, said through the business, they intend to provide Ndi Anambra with World-class experience in retailing Service.
Formal inauguration of the stores and inspection of the facility by the governor formed the highpoint of the event.
