It was a celebration of undiluted faith in God and determination as Enugu-Ukwu catholic Community converged At Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, Enugwu-Ukwu to mark the Golden Jubilees of the Catholic faith in the community as well as honour those who labored to bring catholic faith in the country.

The event which was held in the church premises, attracted Enugu-Ukwu sons and daughters, Bishops, Reverend fathers, Reverend Sisters as well as well wishers.   
Delivering a homily to mark the occasion, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, congratulated the Enugu-Ukwu Catholic Community for the feat and paid glowing tribute to all those who labored to bring the Catholic faith to the Community and prayed God to continue to sustain and protect his people.

The Catholic prelate who enjoined Christians to hold firm to their faith at all times equally urged the Catholic Community in Enugu-Ukwu to abide by the teachings and the doctrine of the Catholic Church as well as strive to serve God in truth and honesty.
In his goodwill message, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano of Religious Matters, Sir Anselm Okafor, praised Ndi Enugwu-Ukwu for achieving the fifty year milestone.
He thanked the community for their continued support of the Obiano administration and said the administration will continue to provide for the welfare of Ndi Anambra and consolidate on the successes recorded in peace and security in the state, agriculture, rural development and in other sectors.
Speaking to the ABS, the Managing Director cum Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Nze Uche Nworah whose grand-father Nze Nworah Ngonadi was one of the founding members of the Catholic faith in the community, said he was privileged to come from such great lineage and described the event as a great occasion and a thing of joy for the community.
Correspondent Chibuzor Okoye who covered the event reports that the eighty-eight communicants received sacrament of confirmation at the mass.
Those honoured for the birth and establishment of Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church Enugu-Ukwu in 1920 were Mr Michael Akpamgbo, late Mr Gabriel Oranya, late  Mr Richard Okeke, late Nze Nworah Ngonadi, late Mr John Onyeabor as well as Mr Aaron Ananweze.
