State government says it will launch the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme in the next one month.
Governor Willie Obiano disclosed this during the Executive walk organized by the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, in commemoration of the World Remembrance Day for Road Crash Victims, in Awka.
Governor Obiano who was represented by the State Commissioner for Health, DR. Josephat Akabuike, said the State government will continue to support the FRSC in its efforts to enhance safety on the state’s roads.
The Governor also charged residents of the state to key into road safety rules in order to reduce mishaps.
In his remark, the State Sector Commander of the Commission Mr. Sunday Ajayi, advised people to imbibe safety consciousness stressing that keeping fit before getting behind the steering is very important.
The FRSC Boss, thanked the commissioner for Health, Special Marshalls as well as sister security agencies that participated in the executive walk for their support.
In an interview, the Assistant State Commander, Administration, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mr. Hassan Sakaba who observed that the compliance rate of motorists to road safety rules in the state is low called for sensitization of the public on the rules, followed by enforcement.
The Executive walk took off from the FRSC Office, Awka Office, near NNPC Mega Station, and finally terminated at the Sector Command’s Office.
