The Anambra State Government has condemned the mischief being associated with the on going Operation Python Dance by the Nigeria Army in the state and entire South East zone, describing the exercise as welcome security measure.
The state government speaking through the Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta , disabused the minds of people of any hidden agenda or controversy, pointing out that security of lives and property of the citizenry is paramount to the state government.
The Commissioner said the state government is co operating with the Nigeria Army to ensure no body’s right is trampled upon,adding that so far no report of inconveniences by the Army’s Operation Python Dance has been received.
Commissioner Nnachetta used the occasion to recall the security exploits of the Obiano Administration in the last thirty three months in the state,enthusing that there will be a repeat of crime free Christmas festivities in the state.
He said in an unmistakable term that nobody has come to occupy and intimidate the people,but to ensure peace and stability of the nation,adding that the South East or Anambra is not an exception .
According to the Commissioner,the group has only received cooperation from the state govt as in other zones of the country.
He denied categorically that the state governor or any other person in government is spear heading any hidden agenda.
