As Anambra State looks forward to the next gubernatorial election this year, the National Orientation Agency in the State has mapped out a number of people-oriented programmes to make the election a huge success.

The Sate Acting Director of the Agency, Dr Mike Ozoemena, who disclosed this during an interview with Newsmen in his office in Awka, listed the programmes to include: statewide peace and security campaigns, massive voter education programmes, advocacy visits to traditional rulers and religious leaders in the state.
Dr Ozoemena, who described 2017 as very critical in the lives of Ndi Anambra because of the election, maintained that the aforementioned programmes were the little way the Agency could contribute its quota in making the forthcoming election hitch free in the state.
While speaking on the intention of the Agency to organize skills acquisition workshop for the unemployed women and youths in the three senatorial zones across the state, Dr Ozoemena, commended the relentless determination of Governor Willie Obiano in the maintenance of tight security throughout the yuletide period in the state.
The Acting Director,  equally lauded the efforts of the security agents in the state for making the state crime free as the Christmas and New Year celebrations lasted with particular reference to the members of the Federal Road Safety Corps who worked tirelessly to ensure that the roads in the state were  safe throughout the celebrations.
He described Governor Obiano as security conscious Governor, urging him not to relent in his commitment to safety to enable the state maintain its first position as one of the safest state in Nigeria today.
