There is no better way to begin the year than to ensure good health.

This was evidentĀ  when over eight hundred persons including women and children, converged on Ubili Nnokwa town to receive treatment for various ailments.
The free medical treatment put together by a philanthropist in the community, Dr. Obiora Chukwuka. was an annual event, which featured morning exercise.
Speaking to the ABS, some of the beneficiaries, Mrs Rose Okafor and Mr Michael Ezegbobelu who said they were treated of high blood pressure during the last exercise, commented on the quality of the drugs they were given and thanked the benefactor for the gesture.
Others Master Somtoochukwu Ezudike and Chinonso Okonkwo, expressed gratitude to the benefactor for promoting healthy living for people of the town and prayed for God’s blessings upon him.
A pharmacist, Mr Onochie Onyekwelu who is in charge of this year’s outreach, noted that they have quality and enough drugs that would serve the crowd and advised the patients to visit a health center if after taking the medication theyĀ  still need medical care.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Ā
The benefactor, Dr. Chukwuka said the gesture which gulps five million naira annually was a way of immortalizing his father who left philanthropy as a legacy, adding that the programme is open for all Nnokwa Indigenes and people from neighbouring communities.
The event featured health talk on early detection of cancer both in men and women.
