Governor Willie Obiano’s efforts in repositioning the Agricultural sector has continued to attract commendations with the latest of such commendations coming from
a cross section of traders at the livestock market in Afor- Nnobi in Idemili south Local government when the ABS crew visited the Area.
One of the branches of Agriculture which has witnessed an unprecedented positive change in the state, is the livestock farming . During the visit BY the ABS crew, to the livestock market in Afor Nnobi, it was observed that both young and old, have ventured into the hitherto neglected area of business. When the ABS crew inquired to find out the reasons for the influx in the number of livestock farmers and traders, it was attributed to the friendly agricultural policies of Governor Willie Obiano. According to the contractor in charge of maintaining the livestock market in Afor Nnobi, Mr Michael Obidi, the livestock market witnessed a boom both in the number of the farmers as well as traders that troop into the market since the inception of the Obiano administration. Mr Obidi , further explained because customers can now find different varieties and sizes of livestock, buyers now travel from different parts of the country to patronize the market.
In the area of security in the market, he applauded the mechanisms put in place by the Governor for the security of the citizenry, but maintained that as a follow up to that, the market engaged the joint services of both the local vigilante and the police which he observed has led to enhanced business transactions. Contributing, an official in the Market, Prince Ifeanyi Okigbo expressed gratitude to the Governor for his monumental achievements in just three years in office On their parts, some of the traders in the market, Mr. Charles Onwuneme, Mrs. Uju Obi and a youth leader in the community Mr Kizito Ojukwu thanked Governor Obiano for the total transformation of the state, especially in the areas of security of lives and property and the economic stimulus packages, to Ndi Anambra to cushion the effects of the present economic recession in the country.
