The traditional ruler of Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu, has attributed the rising socio-economic profile of Anambra state to the commendable security initiative of the Obiano administration.

Obi Nwosu who made this observation in his palace, while exchanging views with members of the Anambra Vigilante Group, Special Task Force on Registration of the Private Security Guards noted that protection of lives and property of the citizenry is the basic and fundamental duty of the government, pointing out that the present Anambra state government has excelled in this regard.

The royal father also described the modernization of Awka and lightning up of the some parts of the state capital as a welcome development and tremendous boost to security and aesthetics of the capital city.

Obi Nwosu, further called on Ndi Anambra to sustain their unflinching support to the Obiano administration in order to further enhance the socio-economic growth and development of the state.

In a remark, the chairman of the Special Task Force on Registration of Private Security Outfits, Mr Matthew Uyanna, stressed the need for streamlining the operation of vigilante groups and their operatives in Anambra state.
For his part, the Secretary of the Task force, Mr. Charles Osegbue, reiterated his call on all private vigilante outfits in the state to, without further delay, register their organizations at the headquarters of the Anambra Vigilante Group in Awka, in accordance with the law.
The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sam Okaula in his office at Amawbia.
