The Intelligence Response Team, IRT, (Police headquarters), Abuja, yesterday, Saturday, June 10, 2017 arrested Nigeria’s most notorious and high profile kidnapper.
Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike aka Evans, 36, a native of Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, was arrested around 1 PM at his Magodo Estate mansion in Lagos.
Evans, who has made billions from ransom demands in the last seven years, is the leader of a notorious gang of kidnappers which operates in the Festac, Ojo and Amuwo Odofin areas of Lagos.
He also leads another gang that operates in the Port-Harcourt-Bayelsa-Warri axis.
Evans is the mastermind of the August 2013 attempted kidnapping of Chief Vincent Obianudo, owner of the Young Shall Grow Motors, at Festac Town.
Evans is said to be the Nigeria’s wealthiest and cleverest kidnapper. He usually would keep his victims for up to seven months in captivity until their families paid him between 300 and 400 million Naira as ransom. He is the reason why several wealthy Nigerians residing in Festac and Amuwo Odofin areas of Lagos relocated out of Festac.
