Deputy Governor Okeke was speaking while hosting development partners in the State to a cultural night, unbehalf of Governor Willie Obiano at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

According to the Deputy Governor, Anambra State is working, because of the strategic development plans put in place by Governor Willie Obiano on inception of his administration, stressing that development in the real sense should be able to move people beyond where they are, which he said, had clearly manifested in the past two successive administrations of the State.

While reeling out some of the strides already achieved by the Obiano-led administration, Dr. Okeke stressed that the State is growing in leaps and bounds because of the enabling environment that have been created, as well as the proactiveness of government in all sectors of the State economy.

While expressing optimism that the partnership with the development partners will continue to be symbiotic, he urged for increased support by the partners, assuring of ability of the State government to play their own part including providing the couch terpart funding.

Earlier, some of the partners present at the event, took turns to highlight the things that interests them about the State, which they said, among other things include, security, peace and tranquility, hospitality and commitment to leadership.

One of the Senior Partners who spoke unbehalf of the United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr. Edward Kallon said that they hope the partnership with the State can be strengthened so that just like had always been the case, the State could set the pace for other States of the Country to follow in implementation of the SDGs.

He said that the commitment and vision displayed by Governor Willie Obiano is unprecedented, assuring of their playing their part where necessary.

Some top government officials such as the Secretary to the State government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Budget Matters, Dr Ben Akabueze, Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget and Development Partners, Mr Mark Okoye, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, among others.

Special plaques were also presented to the leaders of the team by the Deputy Governor.

It was indeed an evening of unwounding as the Anambra cultural troop entertained the visitors to special Cultural music and dance steps.
