The Traditional Ruler of Anaku community in Ayamelum local Government Area, Igwe Peter Oforkansi, has made a case for violence free November eighteen Governorship election in the State.

The Traditional Ruler was speaking while welcoming to his palace at Anaku, the Headquarters of Ayamelum Local Government Area, the State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Mike Ozoemena, and his management team who were on advocacy visit in connection with peaceful conduct of the election in the State.
Igwe Oforkansi, who assured the people that the election would be successful in the area, despite the threats from some quarters in the state about the election, thanked the NOA Director for his undaunted zeal towards engendering genuine peace, security, restoration of good Igbo culture and tradition as well as the peace sensitization programmes in Local governments Areas.
According to him, Ayamelum local Government is peaceful and violence free, adding that Governor Obiano’s victory is assured in the area, because of his outstanding agricultural development programmes in the local government.
Speaking earlier, the NOA Director, Dr.Mike Ozoemena, described traditional rulers as the embodiment of Igbo culture and tradition, calling on them to work towards restoration of the battered Igbo culture, adding that a situation where the young ones neglect to accord respect to the elders nowadays, was not part of Igbo culture.
He also appealed to traditional rulers and other stakeholders in the society to use their good offices to inculcate in the young ones the desired values as they grow with a view to ensuring sanity in the society.
He solicited for the traditional ruler’s cooperation in mobilizing his subjects to understand the reason the forthcoming Governorship election should hold as proposed, pointing out that peace and adequate security was needed for the success of the election.
