The wife of the State Governor, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, says her Non-governmental organization, the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE,

will continue to transform the lives of the indigent peoplein the state.
Chief Mrs Obiano, stated this during the Awka Town Anglican Women Association’s Golden Jubilee Anniversary celebration at Saint Faith Cathedral Awka. .
The Governor’s wife, who was represented by the wife of the Transition Committee Chairman Awka South, Mrs Joy Nwuba, received a Golden Mother Award from the women in recognition of her humanitarian services in the Church and state at large.
Receiving the award, Chief Mrs Obiano, while expressing delight on the honour done her, explained that CAFE will not relent in its efforts and commitment in giving the less privileged  in the society a sense of belonging through selfless services and poverty alleviation programs.


Earlier in a sermon, the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim, commended the women for sustaining the association since its formation, urging them to always be conscious of their primary aim and objectives which include fostering love, unity, and peace amongst Awka Anglican family, catering for the needs of the less privileged in the society among others and prayed God to bind them together in love.
On her part, the Bishop’s wife who is the President Women Group Awka Diocese, Mrs Martha Ibezim, expressed satisfaction with the achievements of the group so far advising members to always participate actively in the activities of the association as it will help them record more successes.
On her part, the President of the association, Lady Henrietta Agbata, who appreciated the women on their massive turn out on the event, solicited for their continued cooperation and advocated total dependence on God, for them to actualize their dreams and vision as a body.
In his remarks, Mr. Abuchi Nwozor, of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, who was among the fifteen awardees during the occasion, thanked the women for finding him worthy for the award which he noted, will spur him to contribute more for the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as for humanitarian services of the union of which he was given the award.
The event featured a health talk by a health personnel, Mr Victor Iyamba as well as presentation of awards to beneficiaries by the President of the union.
