The State Secretary, of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Anthony Ifeanya, said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has deviced a means to
checkmate any manipulation in the November eighteen Governorship election in the state.
Barrister Ifeanya, who unveiled this during an interview at a cultural festival in Umueri Community, Anambra East Council Area, said the measures were unveiled during their meeting with the INEC.
Barrister Ifeanya, who said that APGA is on ground and a party to recon with, noted that the people of the state have been commending the party for conducting transparent primary election, assuring the people that there would be no room for manipulation of the electorate’s mandate during the election and described Governor Obiano’s achievements in all aspects of the state economy as very symbolic.
On his part, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Utilities, Chief Obi Aneseokwu, described the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state as momentous period for people of the state, calling on the electorates to appreciate Governor Obiano’s monumental achievements in the past four years through their massive votes for him at the polls to grant his return for the next four years.
Chief Aneseokwu, who noted that the leadership of the present administration in the state believe solely on the abilities of the youths, adviced them to desist from thuggery and other social vices before, during and after the election.
Contributing, the traditional ruler of Umuoba-Anam Igwe George Ekwealo said Governor Obiano has showcased him as a true leader of the state under the face of the present economic recession through his unparalled achievements, especially in the areas of prompt payment of workers’ salaries, construction of roads and bridges and maintenance of adequate security and enjoined all to cast their votes for him to ensure his return for the next four years.
In their separate speeches, the Legal Adviser of the State Youths Vanguard, Barrister Okenyi Guy and one of the high Chiefs in Umuoba-Anam Community, Chief Boniface Iloegbunam, advised the youths to say no to all forms of thuggery during the election, but be vigilant in the fight against the manipulation of the ballots with a view to ensuring that a rightful candidate emerges.
