Tomorrow, all roads will lead to Paul University Football Pitch in Awka, venue of the Novelty Football match between members of the State Executive Council and the State Legislators,

tagged Governor Obiano Victory Trophy. The aim of the football competition, involving the two arms of government: the Executive and the Legislature, is to celebrate the glorious victory of Governor Willie Obiano and to cement the existing cordial relationship between the two important arms of government, for the first time since the creation of the state.
The State has enjoyed peace for some time now because these two arms of government are working harmoniously towards one direction, which is to actualize the dreams and aspirations of Ndi Anambra. It is on record that the passage of the relevant laws by the State Legislature has gone a long way in facilitating the execution of a lot of people-oriented programmes and policies.
Tomorrow’s match will be an entertaining cracker because after beating members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists last year, the Legislative arm of government is now the team to beat. The encounter promises to be a high profile one, taking into consideration the number of persons that have, so far, indicated interest in the match.
The speaker will lead other members of the House, including Paschal Agbodike, Tim Ifediorah, Hayford Oseke, Law Ezeudu and Obinna Emenaka, while the executive arm will parade Dr Uju Nwogu, Willie Nwokoye, Tony Uche, Chinedu Obidigwe and Dr. Joe Akabuike. The match is a celebration of the glorious victory of governor Obiano in the last election.
The victory of Governor Obiano is a victory for the people of Anambra state, who worked assiduously to ensure that he won in the entire 21 council areas of the state. The victory is an indication that the entire people of the state have given their mandate to Governor Obiano to rule them for the next four years.
Football and other sporting events are used to promote and sustain long standing relationship and the Obiano victory has really shown that, for the first time since the creation of Anambra state, a single entity could secure victory in the entire council areas of the state and the defeated candidates of other political parties accepted defeat in good fate by extending hands of fellowship to the winner.
Sports, under the Obiano-led administration, has moved to the next level, with the Commissioner for Youth Entrepreneurship and Sports Development, Dr. Uju Nwogu, using it to effectively keep Anambra state youths busy throughout the year as the State has virtually honoured all Sporting competitions within and outside the country.
Equally, sports in Anambra state under the watch of Dr. Nwogu has been used to unite communities with the staging of Governor Obiano Unity Cup for the entire communities in the state. The Traders Cup Soccer Fiesta provided an opportunity for more than sixty markets in the state to present football teams. The Anambra State Academicals took care of all football teams, male and female, in secondary schools, while the Willie is Working under-13 Soccer Champion afforded Young Footballers the opportunity to showcase their skills.
The state governor is expected to perform the kick-off ceremony tomorrow at 3pm for the commencement of Hostilities. The Governor Obiano Victory Trophy, involving the State Executive Council and the Legislature, is sponsored by DOZZY Oil and Gas, as a way of encouraging mutual understanding between these two arms of government.
The oil firm deemed it necessary to use this golden opportunity to appreciate governor Obiano and the State Legislators for taking the state to higher pedestal.
