Students have been charged to be dedicated to their studies to attain their full potential in life.
The Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria, and Chancellor of Paul University Awka, Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh, gave the charge during the Eighth Undergraduates and Twenty-second Postulants Matriculation ceremony at the University premises.
The Head of the Anglican Church in Nigeria, represented by the Bishop of Awka Diocese, Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim, maintained that being successful in life is a personal determination, charging the new students to avoid acts capable of marring their future and career in life.
Archbishop Okoh, disclosed that Paul University is anchored on the core values of spirituality, excellence, diligence, and moral rectitude, noting that its vision is to be nurture best graduates, and advised the matriculants to always abide by the rules and regulations of the institution, assuring them of the full support of the lecturers and the university authorities to actualize their educational dreams.
In an address, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Venerable Professor Uche Isiugo-Abanihe, while congratulating the new students, informed them that the university as a faith based institution has zero tolerance for antisocial behaviour, urging them to concentrate on their studies and to always be mindful of their target in life.
In a presentation on Vision on a Purposeful Pursuit, a guest speaker from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Blessing Ijeoma, stressed the need for the students to be purposeful and focused throughout their stay in the institution.
In a remark on behalf of the matriculants, Miss Precious Chinedu of the Department of Accountancy, promised to be law abiding and to make their parents proud throughout their stay in the school.
