Nigerians have been urged to reduce intake of tobacco and alcohol to check the increasing cases of cardiovascular diseases.

Speaking in Awka, a Medical Practitioner, Dr. Timothy Eze said heart diseases are part of major causes of premature death across the world.

 

Dr. Eze urged the people to engage in regular physical exercise, maintain balance and healthy diet and ensure adequate intake of fruits and vegetable.

 

He explained that this would protect them from other risk factors including stroke, high blood pressures, bad cholesterol, increased glucose level, increased weight and obesity.

 

Dr. Eze stressed the need for people to maintain healthy life style and regular medical checkup to know their health statues.

 

He enjoined parents to avoid feeding their Children with junk food and sugary drinks to protect their vital organs.
