WRITTEN BY EMMA MADU
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 19, 2018, all roads will lead to Saint Mary Mother of the Church Catholic Parish,
Ukpor in Nnewi South Council Area for the 30th Wedding Anniversary of Barrister Hyacinth and Right Honourable Barrister Rita Maduagwu and the 60th Birthday Ceremony of Barrister Hyacinth.
The Bible records in Ecclesiastes chapter four, verses nine to twelve that “Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labour. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. If two lie down together, they keep warm, but can one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him”. These Biblical remarks have been the grand norm in the thirty-year marriage of Barrister Hyacinth and Rt. Hon. Barrister Rita Maduagwu as united they have remained throughout the period with great love.
Consummated in February, 1987 in a wedding at Saint Dominic’s Catholic Church, Yaba Lagos, the marriage has been fruitful and eventful in all ramifications as the hand of God has continued to manifest in all aspects. According to the couple “the first love and respect we established thirty years ago are still as fresh and cordial as a day-old-wedded couple. We have continued to relate as best husband and wife, best friends, best confidants and above all, best lovers in the past thirty years with abundant grace of God”.
The marriage of Barrister Hyacinth and Right Honourable Barrister Rita Maduagwu has been beneficial to humanity in many ways. For instance, the head of the family, Barrister Hyacinth Maduagwu, being a great philanthropist, has contributed immensely towards uplifting the living standard of the people. He has also made giant strides in the development of his community, Ukpor, hence the conferment of the title of (Obata-Obie Ukpor) on him.
His wife, Right Hon. Barrister Rita Obianamma Maduagwu, by the grace of God, is the speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and Chairman, South-East Conference of Speakers of Houses of Assembly in Nigeria. Her position has facilitated a lot of developments in her community, Ukpor, Nnewi South Council Area, Anambra South Senatorial zone, where she is the political leader, as well as the entire state. The couple has done quite well in their respective endeavours, especially in human empowerment programmes.
For the records, the thirty-year-marriage, which produced six lovely children (five males and one female), is a thing of joy to humanity and glory to God.
To Chief Barrister Hyacinth Maduagwu, whose sixtieth birthday also comes up tomorrow, we say, with every inspiration, that it is worth celebrating in view of the positive impacts he has made in the service of God and humanity.
Barrister Maduagwu is, by all standards, a successful businessman, a good family man, a lawyer and human rights defender and above all a personality of note in his community Ukpor and the state in general. His generosity knows no bounds.
As Chief Barrister Hyacinth and Right Honourable Barrister Rita Maduagwu mark their thirtieth wedding anniversary as well as the sixtieth birthday of the head of the family, Chief Barrister Hyacinth Maduagwu tomorrow, we pray God to continue to rejuvenate the marriage and add more eventful years to the head of the family, Barrister Hyacinth.
May God strengthen them in all goodness and continue to make their family a source of hope and inspiration to mankind.
Congratulations (Obata-Obie Ukpor) and (Odiuko-Global) on this well thought thanksgiving to God for His immeasurable grace unto your family.
