Nigerians have been advised to be cautious of the type of food they take, as well as live healthy life styles to avert all categories of cancers.

The National President and Chief Medical Mission Coordinator, ASA Women USA, Dr Mrs Anthonia Umeh, gave the advice during their medical outreach at Ime Obi Onitsha.

 

According to Dr Umeh, the aim of the medical mission was to assist women in tackling challenges of breast, cervical cancer and other diseases, as well as prostate cancer in men.

Various lectures on healthy eating as well as life style were delivered to the participants.

 

According to Mrs Onyinye Umenweke, cancer has no early symptoms and advised for regular medical check to help in early detection which will aid its cure.

 

On his part, the Coordinator for Onitsha, Dr Joy Egbunike Chike Obi expressed satisfaction with the large turn out of the people.

 

One of the surgeons from USA, Dr Miraji Shah-Khan, while examining a breast cancer patient said earlier detection could have made things better.

 

Some of the beneficiaries, Mr. Nonso Okeke, Mrs Anene Ikebude and Mrs Ngozi Chukwurah thanked the ASA USA women for their magnanimity and prayed God to reward them abundantly.
