It was a cheerful day for the people of Nnewi North and South as Wife of the Governor, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano,

visited the areas in continuation of her Community Empowerment Tour to the twenty-one council areas of the State.

The event which took place at the Local Government Headquarters at Nnewi and Ukpor respectively was attended by top government officials.
Addressing the people of the councils, Chief Mrs Obiano, who was represented by the Member Representing Orumba South at the State House of Assembly, and Chairman House Committee on Women Affairs, Princess Nikki Ugochukwu, maintained that the visions of the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, focus on human capacity building .
She assured that she would not relent in driving the projects of human empowerment forward.
In their separate remarks , the Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi North, Prince Chukwudi Orizu, and his Nnewi South counterpart, Honourable Felix Odimegwu, who said Chief Mrs Obiano, has touched every aspect of the human society, called on others to emulate her in giving succor to the underprivileged in society.

 

In their remarks, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Honourable Afam Mbanefo, and his Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters counterpart, Chief Greg Obi, said Mrs Obiano’s passion for mankind is unprecedented, adding that her human oriented disposition has restored hopes and beliefs of the downtrodden.

On her part, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Barrister Rita Maduagwu, said those who remember the needy obtain abundant heavenly enrichment, calling for prayers for Governor Willie Obiano and his wife, as they continue to impact on lives of the people .
Indigent, aged and physically impaired people from the fourteen towns making up the two council areas were also presented with gifts by the Governor’s wife.
