Poem, as one of the genres of literature has been described as a work of creativity that should be celebrated.

This was the view of Mr. James Eze, a Poet and Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Anambra state as well as a member of Awka Literary Society, during a Radio Phone in Programme, “Anambra Talks” on the topic “Return of Idoto Two” in commemoration of late Poet, Mr. Christopher Okigbo.

Mr. Eze, urged parents to encourage their children to develop their literal talents.

The National President of Nigerian Authors Mr. Denja Abdulahi advised Poets to embrace the use of native language in writing poems as it helps to build and promote their mother tongue.

A 2017 Noble Laurette, Mr. Ikeogu Oke also advised Poets to remodel their works to catch the readers’ minds and transmit their messages, while stressing the use of performance poem, which has come into existence recently.

Two guests to the programme, Sir Anthony Ugorji from Nri who is a popular poet and Mr. Ikeogu performed Igbo language poetry.

During his performance Mr. Ikeogu called on Ndi Igbo to rise up and promote their fathers land.
