Mrs Ify Obinabo has assumed office as the new Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba North.

Mrs Obinabo took over from Mr Aforka in a ceremony at Ajalli, the headquarter of Orumba North Council Area witnessed by a large gathering of staff of the council, religious leaders, traditional rulers, security agents and other stakeholders.

In his handover speech, Mr. Aforka urged people of the area to extend hand of fellowship to the new chairman, to ensure continuous growth and development of the Local Government Area.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Obinabo said it is a privilege and a divine mandate for her to be chosen to serve the people of Orumba North, promising to work in the best of her ability and knowledge for the good of all.

She solicited the cooperation of all to achieve maximum result for the people of the area, which she said was Governor Willie Obiano’s front line charge to her.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Head of Service Local Government Administration, , Mr. Chike Obuekwe and a lecturer, Mr. Anthony Offodile, thanked the Governor for finding her worthy to serve.

They called on Mrs. Obinabo to serve the people with the love of a mother noting that the people of the area are in good hands as they expressed optimism that she would do well.
