The clergy and laity of the Anglican Diocese of Aguata yesterday gathered to celebrate the fiftieth birthday of the wife of the Bishop of the Diocese, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor.
The event which was held at the Cathedral Church of St John, Ekwulobia, had the congregation testifying about Mrs. Ezeofor’s life of motherly kindness, integrity, humility, love and devotion.
The Cathedral Church of Saint John, Ekwulobia was filled to capacity as friends and well wishers joined the Anglican Bishop of Aguata, Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor and his family to mark the auspicious occasion of his wife’s golden jubilee.
In a sermon at the special thanksgiving service, the Bishop Emeritus of Ihiala Anglican Diocese, the Right Reverend Ralph Okafor who took his text from Philippians Chapter four verse four, underlined the importance of Christians to imbibe the life of gratitude and thanksgiving to God for the gift of life which will include living a life of righteousness.
For the Commissioner for Environment, Architect Mike Okonkwo , Mrs. Ezeofor is a role model who is dedicated to positively affecting the lives of other women.
He called on women to live a life of sacrifice, dedication, love and devotion to their families.
The Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Ezeofor and the celebrant, Mrs. Ezeofor in their responses appreciated God for his faithfulness on their family, promising that the family will positively affect other people especially the poor and downtrodden in the society.
Mrs. Ezeofor also launched her first gospel album and the “Generous God Education Fund Foundation”, initiated by the Episcopal couple to help the less privileged and out of school children gain access to qualitative education.
