The Anambra state government says it is committed to maintaining its lead position among states of the federation, in quality road network.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency, Engr. Emeka Okoye stated this when some members of a nongovernmental organization, “Centre for Peace and Self Value Reorientation”, CPSVR, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Awka.

the Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency Boss, Mr. Okoye said state government has comprehensive plans towards providing the residents with accessible roads, including ensuring zero pothole initiative and disclosed that over one hundred and fifty youths have been recruited to help the Ministry in identifying and tackling pothole challenges in all parts of the state, on daily basis.

He thanked the group for recognizing his efforts and service to humanity, and promised to work harder for the people of the state.

Speaking earlier, the Executive Director of the NGO, Comrade Abraham Oyibo who rated the state high in good road network, said that through the NGO’s assessment, the present government ranks high in road maintenance and good governance.

Describing the state’s Road Maintenance Agency as the most vibrant and effective in the federation, Comrade Oyibo said that Mr. Okoye has distinguished himself from among his counterparts all over the country following the NGO’s field assessment. He used the occasion to present a “Service Ambassador” award to Engr. Okoye, in recognition of his services.

In their remarks, some staff in the Agency, including, Engr. Obinna Eze, and Engr. Ugochukwu Ngene, commended the organization for recognizing their boss.

They pledged to work harder to actualize more successes in road infrastructure and maintenance in the state.
