The two point agenda of the State Local Government Service Commission to entrench productivity and discipline among staff of the Commission is yielding positive result.
In view of this, three Local Government workers recently presented their productivity skills to the Commission in Awka.
The Local Government Councils include, Idemili South, Awka North and Ihiala. The local government areas trooped out en- mass with their handmade products ranges from hat, farm produce, soap, bleach, tiger nut juice among others.
Presenting the items, the Head of Local Government Administration for Idemili South Lady Virginia Nwankwo and her counterpart in Awka North Lady Jane Anene as well as Ihiala Miss Chinyere Nkamnebe highlighted the rigorous of the project and expressed joy that it has improved workers attitude to work as diligence has become the order of the day in their council areas.
They thanked the Commission for coming up with such ideas that has totally changed the mindsets of workers and increased job satisfaction among them as virtually all the Departments were involved in the production process.
Earlier in his speech, the chairman Local Government Service Commission Sir, Peter Egenti, said the idea to reform Local Government System by making its staff viable and productive is of great essence to the Commission saying that from the interactions they had with some workers over their challenges comes up the vision “Discipline and Productivity
Sir Peter expressed satisfaction with the zeal with which they embraced the programme and urged them to remain focused and diligent to spur them to higher level.
