Residents of Uhu-Ebe village Ukpor in Nnewi south Council Area have called on government at all levels to save the community from escalating erosion menace ravaging the area.

When ABS visited the site, it was observed that properties and farm lands worth billions of naira have been lost to the ugly menace.

Speaking to the ABS, a residents of the area, Mr. Somadina Okolie who recalled how the ugly incident started when the culvert connecting the channels collapsed due to continuous rain fall, noted that the depth of the erosion has speedily increased, cutting off some residential buildings in the area and added that the erosion if not properly checked, will become one of the biggest erosion sites in the state.

Contributing, another occupant, Mr. Ifeanyi Agwuncha called for urgent intervention by appropriate authorities as their properties and farm lands have been devastated by the menace.
