The Public presentation of the book ‘Self Reliance Through Passion’ written by Mrs. Millian Nsofor, in Awka attracted book lovers, literary experts and other stakeholders.
The book presentatiion hosted professionals who deliberated on the author’s literary purpose, skills, and the relevance of the subject to contemporary literary realities..
The five-sections and eighty-six page novel, is a debut work of Mrs. Nsofor, and has received rave critique from reviewers, who described its content as significant antidote to some present challenges in the society, especially among the younger generation.
Lending a voice to the discussion, the Member Representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Victor Umeh, who was represented by the Transition Committee Chairman for Anaocha Local Government Area, Chief Ikeobi Ejiofor, said the book treats the critical issue of youth restiveness in an era of unemployment, where self reliance must be at the vanguard of youth development.
The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C-Don Adinuba, who was represented by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr Uche Nworah, said the efforts of the author reflects the initiatives of the Obiano administration in the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy
Mr. Adinuba urged the author to also explore the vast opportunities of the online media and pledged that the ABS will partner her through its programs both on radio and television.
The Chairman on the occasion and a one-time Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Anambra State Council, Comrade Nathaniel Anigbo, spoke on restructuring the mindset towards hard work, and implored the youth to keep their hands busy with works that are driven by immense passion.
The book reviewer and Managing Director, Anambra Newspapers and Printing Company the Publishers of National Light, Sir Chuka Nnabuife observed that the book established a clear picture between mindset and motivation, pointing out that it would be a pleasurable read for all audience.
For the author of the book, Mrs. Nsofor, the motivation behind the novel was the need for today’s youth to be creative and develop a means of self reliance in view of the high unemployment rate in the country.
Also at the book launch were the traditional ruler of Agulu, Igwe Innocent Obodoako, former Managing Directors of the Anambra Broadcasting Service Sir Ikechukwu Abana and Lady Chinwe Nedum, a public relations expert, Dr Chuks Osuji, amongst others.
