Governor Willie Obiano says the volume two of Anambra compendium would be published before the end of his second term.
Governor Obiano stated this at the official unveiling of Anambra compendium held in Awka.
The event brought together the who is who in Anambra State in various fields of endeavour, friends and well wishers of Ndi Anambra as well as the International Community.
Speaking during the event, Governor Willie Obiano who described the eigth hundred paged book that recognized two hundred and seventy eight Ndi Anambra who have excelled in their chosen professions all over the world as a masterpiece, said that the volume two of the compendium will capture great Anambra people who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavours but were not captured in the current compendium.
The Governor said that Ndi Anambra have continually shown the light in many aspects of life as God richly endowed the people of the state with rich human and material resources, citing Dr. Philip Emeagwali from Onitsha, Late Michael Iwene Tansi from Aguleri, Mr. Emmanuel Okala who he described as one of the iconic goal keepers in Nigeria as few examples of Ndi Anambra that have made the state, Ndigbo and Nigeria proud.
Governor Obiano assured that his administration will not renege in putting modalities that will boost socioeconomic development of the state in place in order to keep developing the intellectual ingenuity of every Onye Anambra.
The book reviewer, Professor Elochukwu Amucheazi said that he is satisfied with the book as one is thrilled by the findings of the researcher, describing the coverage of the book as spectacular but said that there is still room for improvement in the subsequent publications.
The Publisher and Editor-in-chief of the book Mr. Emeka Okonkwo explained that the compendium is a great work of art that challenge the depth of t intellectual ingenuity and revealed that the book
presents the comprehensive documentation of Anambra State, its indefatigable people, rich cultural heritage, beautiful environments and its rich religious and educational excellence pursuit.
A minute silence was observed for late Mr. Randie Chima who was the creative director of photography on the Anambra compendium project before his death on Eleventh August, 2018.
