Over two thousand widows at Fruits and Vegetable Market, Okpoko in Ogbaru Local government area, popularly known as Afia Coke along the Onitsha-Asaba expressway,

have extolled the Obiano administration for excluding them from payment of shop rent in the last four years.
The widows made the commendation while speaking to journalists in the Market.
The Spokesperson of the group, Mrs Christiana Ejiofor described Governor Willie Obiano as a kind hearted man who has demonstrated his love for them by allowing them trade at the market at no cost.
She however appealed to the Governor not to relocate the Market to the proposed site beside Power Mike stadium, as their main site is safer, coupled with the fact that the proposed site is usually submerged by flood coming from the River Niger whenever there is heavy downpour.
Another trader at the Market, who is also a widow, Mrs Augustina Obi lamented that if the market is moved to the site, lives and goods worth millions of naira could be lost to flood during torrential rains as the area is prone to flood.
On his part, a trader at the market, Mr Ezekiel Ilofu, maintained that the Market site is more conducive for them as they record business boom there, pledging their unflinching support to the present administration.
A visit to the proposed site for the Market, confirmed that the area is already submerged by flood from the recent torrential rains that occurred in the state.
