The remains of late Chief Christopher Chiedozie, have been laid to
rest at his residence at Ezimezi village, Amawbia, Awka South Local
Government Area.
Late Chief Christopher Chiedozie aged ninety-five was a devoted
Christian throughout his life time.
Eminent members of the society, colleagues, families,
friends and well wishers who graced the event, eulogized the good
works of the deceased.
Delivering a sermon during a burial service in honour of the deceased at Saint Peters Anglican
Church Amawbia, the Anglican Bishop of Awka Diocese, Right Reverend
Alexander Ibezim reminded Christians of inevitability of death for all
mortals and appealed to parents to work assiduously to raise great
leaders for the country by inculcating moral values in their children
for greater tomorrow.
Bishop Ibezim said that the deceased was committed and dedicated towards
the development of youths, and an education icon
whose life was exemplary.
While extolling the virtues of the great icon, as an advocate of
righteousness and lover of truth, the Anglican Prelate who called on
Christians to live a life of holiness said that every individual must
give account of stewardship to the creator, adding that man must be
judged according to what he has done on earth.
Also sympathizing with the family of the deceased, friends to the
family, Mr Vadigo Ferdinand and Mrs. Chinelo Mbah, said Late
Chief Chiedozie, was a man of high principle and lover of all human
beings without discrimination and encouraged his children to live in
peace as one family, while praying that God will give them the fortitude
to bear the irreparable loss.
Some of his children, Mr Fredrick Chiedozie and Mr. Chika
Chiedozie, described their late father as a disciplinarian who lived
meritoriously and expressed gratitude of the entire family to those
who contributed in giving their late father a befitting burial ,assuring
that they will live by the legacies of their father, and prayed God to
rest his soul in perfect peace.
The event featured cultural dances and short rendition by Old
Boys of Nike Grammar School Enugu where he was once a principal as
well as condolence visits.
