Governor Willie Obiano has called on Ndi Anambra especially the State Civil Servants to endeavor to key into the Health Insurance Scheme initiated by the State Government.

The Governor made the call during the 2018 Ofala Festival of Onitsha Kingdom, held at Ime-Obi, Onitsha.

The Colourful event was well attended by dignitaries from within and outside the state as well as people of the community.

Governor Obiano, who noted that the scheme was evolved to provide health cover to the people at little or no cost, said his government has lofty intentions it wants to achieve but without the people’s participation, the scheme will not excel.

He described the Ofala festival as an ancient cultural event which promote unity and brotherliness among the people and commended people of Onitsha for guarding their cultural heritage jealously.

The Governor prayed that the, 2018 Ofala Festival of Igwe Nnaemeka
Achebe, the traditional ruler of Onitsha, will bring forth more blessings to Onitsha community and Anambra State at large.

In his Ofala message, Igwe Achebe harped on the need for politicians to embrace peace ahead of the 2019 general elections and tasked whoever emerges, to focus on addressing the numerous socio-economic challenges facing the country.

He commended Governor Obiano for touching lives through his lofty
investments and agricultural development programmes, describing his administration as an expression of hope for Ndigbo.

The Member representing Onitsha North Two in the State Assembly, Mr
Eddie Ibuzo said Ofala Onitsha has been a veritable way through which
the people reaffirm their loyalty to their king and their support for the growth and development of the community and called on other communities to emulate the town.

The event also featured paying of homage to Igwe Achebe by the Governor and other guests including the United States Consul General to Nigeria, Mr John Bray.
