A five member caretaker committee has been inaugurated to pilot the affairs of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS chapter of the Radio, Television, and Theatre Arts Workers Union, RATTAWU.
The committee will oversee the affairs of the union in the next three months during which election for new leadership of the chapel will be organized.
Members of the five man Caretaker committee include Comrades Maurenstone Enujioke Chairman, Afam Obidike Treasurer, Amaka Obi Secretary, KC Eze Lambat Financial Secretary, and Stella Okoye PRO.
Speaking during the ceremony, the South East Zonal Vice President of the Union, Comrade Emeka Kalu coutioned members against segregation and other acts that could mar or jeopardize the peace and unity of the Union.
Comrade Kalu who described the Union as strong and independent body, called on the Committee to use the three month period to take the Union to higher level through selfless service, and prepare members for the upcoming election of the chapter.
On his part, the state Council Chairman of the Union, Comrade Andy Onwualu charged members to support the newly appointed committee for optimal performance and progress of the chapter.
In her acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Committee, Maurenstone Enujioke on behalf of others promised to work within the guidelines establishing them and to carry everybody along for the upliftment of Union.
Oath of office was later administered on members of the committee by the state Council Chairman of the Union.
