The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor,
has described the choice of former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State
as the running mate to the Presidential candidate of the People’s
Democratic Party PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as well deserved, and
urged Igbo political leaders to shun personal interest in order to become relevant in the nation’s polity.

Bishop Ezeokafor who stated this at Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church,
Ifitedunu, in Dunukofia Local Government Area while reacting to the
State of the nation, noted that with Alhaji Atiku, as a politician and
former Governor Peter Obi, as great manager of resources, at the helm
of affairs, the Nation’s economic and administrative challenges will be adequately addressed.

Bishop Ezeokafor, who maintained his stance on restructuring, pointed out that restructuring remains the only way through which every part of the country would be proud of what they have and advocated real
confederation as practiced in America and other parts of the world.

Bishop Ezeokafor who called for prayers in view of the numerous
challenges facing the Nation urged the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to incessant killings and maiming of innocent citizens across the country.
