Anambra State government has assured continued formulation of policies and action plans for an all inclusive youth development in the State.

Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke gave the assurance when he received in audience, South East leadership and members of the Nigeria Youth Council of Nigeria, who paid him a courtesy call at the Government House Awka.

Receiving the team on behalf of Governor Willie Obiano, Deputy Governor Okeke stressed the importance of continued dialogue and engagement with the youth, stressing that they need to be encouraged to become major stakeholders in the scheme of things in the Nation.

Deputy Governor Okeke pledged the commitment and support of the Obiano led administration to the affairs of the youths, urging them to utilize their God given opportunity for the benefit of the Society.

The team was led by the South East Vice President of the Council, Prince Chibuike Echem, who said the visit was to present themselves to the State government, after their emergence from the Council’s election in Gombe State, where he said Anambra State got two National positions of Deputy President and Vice President for the very first time in the history of the Council.

Prince Echem regretted that the Council seem to have a big name but very little value and respect in the eyes of the public.

The Anambra State Chairman of the Youth Council applauded State government for their friendly disposition towards the youths, promising to use the veritable platform offered by the Council, to
impact positively on the youths of the Zone before the expiration of their tenure.
