Ohaneze Ndigbo has expressed support for the nomination of former Governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi as the running mate of the People , Anambra State Chapter, Chief Damian Okeke- Ogene noted that though Ohaneze is not a political organization, it is fully committed to the political future of Ndigbo, Southeast and Nigeria.
Chief Okeke – Ogene restated that the stand of Ohaneze on restructuring and it’s resolve to support any political party and candidate with a manifesto to actualize the agenda which he said is why Ohaneze Ndigbo is supporting the choice of Peter Obi as a Vice Presidential Candidate, noting that the choice has gained worldwide acceptance and commendations because it offers the opportunity to promote equity, fairness and good conscience in the country.
He commended Nigerians for voicing out their support of the joint ticket irrespective of political party affiliation, religion or tribal leaning, adding that the development was happily received during the just concluded ASA – USA Conference and World Igbo Congress in USA.
He said Ndigbo are strongly united towards restructuring and repositioning Nigeria as determinant socio-political force in Africa, noting that the joint ticket of Atiku Abubaka and Peter Obi will engender the desired change.
He made it clear that Ohaneze Ndigbo will give the same attention and consideration to any other major Political party that work within the aspirations and agenda of Ohaneze Ndigbo .
Chief Okeke Ogene called on the PDP and it’s candidates to ensure that other key political positions are evenly distributed across the political zones to carry everybody along.
