An accreditation team from the School of Nursing and Midwifery
Council, Abuja is in the State to inspect facilities of the School of Nursing and Midwifery Obosi for possible full accreditation.
The team led by Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu on arrival paid a courtesy call on the State Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke at the Government House, Awka.
Receiving the team on behalf of Governor Willie Obiano, Deputy
Governor Okeke expressed confidence that the inspection by the team will yield positive result, assuring that everything is in place to enhance their work.
The Deputy Governor further reiterated that the State government is doing its best to transform the State Health sector, urging the state citizenry to give more support to the Governor, for more interventions in other sectors.
Alhaji Aliyu, in his remarks, said that the purpose of their visit to the State is to inspect facilities and infrastructure of the school for possible accreditation.
He appreciated the State government and the State citizenry for the level of hospitality given to them so far, and assured that they will discharge their duties with utmost professionalism.
The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Basil Nwaknwo, said that the exercise is
important because they have being running on partial accreditation.
