The Commissioner for Heath, Dr. Joe Akabuike, says the state government is poised to providing affordable and accessible health care system to all the residents of the state.

Dr. Akabuike stated this when he visited Agulu General Hospital, Anaocha Local Government Area, to inspect the level of work going on at the hospital.

Speaking shortly after the inspection, the Commissioner who expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far at the hospital, said that the Willie Obiano led APGA government wants to provide facilities that people need medically in terms of infrastructure and human resources in all parts of the state.

Dr. Akabuike explained that the current administration in the state has introduced a complete health reforms that its sole aim is to provide a world class health system to Ndi Anambra citing the
establishment of Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, the introduction of the Anambra State Health Insurance Scheme among others, as some of the exploits done by the Obiano government in the Health sector.

The Traditional Ruler of Agulu , Igwe Innocent Obodoakor, thanked Dr. Akabuike and Governor Willie Obiano for the ongoing work at the General Hospital but appealed to the state government to ensure that the hospital is adequately equipped to serve the people well.

The President General Agulu People’s Forum, Chief Andy Orakwelu, also commended Governor Obiano for salvaging the hospital and promised that the community will always support his administration.

Dr. Chike Akunyili, the husband of the late NAFDAC boss, Professor Dora Akunyuli, was among the dignitaries at the event.
