State government has tasked the State citizenry on protecting various government projects across the State.

Governor Willie Obiano stated this while inspecting the ongoing Construction of Nkwo Nando to Ikem Nando Road, Anambra-East Council Area.

According to the Governor, the contractor has been adequately mobilized,  noting that the road is the eighth road constructed by his administration in Nando because it serves as a link to other agrarian Communities in the area.

Governor Obiano, who assured that the roads will be lit up as well, asked especially the youth to protect government facilities in their
area, expressing hope that the road will facilitate evacuation of  agricultural products from the area.

The Managing Director of Anambra Road Maintenance Agency, Mr Emeka Okoye in his remarks  said the road cut  across two major villages in Nando and is linked to  a federal road.

The Chairman and Managing Director of the firm handling the project and the traditional ruler of Umueri Igwe Ben Emeka explained that out of the total of four-point-four-three kilometers of the road, two-point-five kilometers have been asphalted, assuring that
the project will be completed by the end of February.

The Member representing Ayamelum in the State House of Assembly, Mr Uchenna Okafor assured of support for the Governor, while Chief Ikem Emenaka appreciated commended  efforts of the Governor  in the State.
