Family members, Friends and Well Wishers gathered at Mojekwu family in Akamili Umudim Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area to pay final respect to Late Barrister Wilfred Ejike Mojekwu as his remains were laid to rest.
Late Wilfred Ejike Mojekwu who died at the age of Ninety-five lived what the family members described as a fulfilled life and is survived by children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins among other numerous relatives.
Some of the dignitaries who attended the burial include the Deputy governor of Anambra State Dr Nkem Okeke, Members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Staffs of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Denis Memorial Grammar School Old boys, Bishops of the Anglican Communion, and Archbishop Emeritus Province on the Niger,Maxwell Anikwenwa, among others.
In a sermon during the burial service, the Bishop of Etsako Diocese Right. Reverend Jacob Babajide Olajide Baba called on Christians to always live according to the teachings and commandments of God as according to him, there is no prior information as to when death will come.
In a condolence massage, the Central Bank of Nigeria Awka branch Controller, Mr Chuks Sokari and his Owerri counterpart, Mrs Georgina Nwankwo called on the family members to remain faithful to God and uphold the legacies of their late father by living in peace and harmony.
For the Children of the late Wilfred Mojekwu including his son Mr Ejike Mojekwu and his daughter Chizoba Mojekwu, their father was an icon and epitome of humor whom they will forever miss.
They however appreciated all their friends and relatives who came from far and wide to sympathize with them and prayed for their safe return back to their respective homes.
The event featured condolences by associates, friends, in-laws and well wishers and also music as well as cultural dances.
