South African Government is seeking areas of partnership with the Anambra State government.
The hint was dropped when Governor Willie Obiano received the South African Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Bobby Moroe, and team at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.
The team was in the State to explore areas of possible partnership. According to the South African Ambassador, Mr Moroe, they conducted their research and are impressed at the energy exhibited by the young people in the State, which was why they have interest in human capital development, tourism, agriculture, hotel and hospitality industry in general.
Mr Moroe said they identified Anambra because of its resourcefulness and stated that they have interest to strengthen relationship with the State, stressing that their major focus was on opportunities that will profit young people in the State.
Addressing the press after a closed door meeting, Governor Obiano said that the State is always open to embrace opportunities that will benefit the State citizenry, pointing out that among other issues, they discussed was the possibility of establishing a South African Consulate in the State.
Also present at the meeting were the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Primus Odili, among others.
