Stakeholders at Anambra day in the ongoing Trade Fair in Onitsha have expressed optimism that more foreign investors will partner the state for expansion and development.

Anambra day usually observed by the Ministry of Trade and Commerce is marked during the Trade Fair, with the aim of intimating the public on the potentials of the state in the areas of manufacturing wealth creation and industrialization.

Declaring the event open, the Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr. Christian Madubuko said the ongoing trade fair organised by the three City Chambers of Commerce is a platform for Ndi Anambra and investors to showcase their products and services .

The Commissioner, represented by the Director in the Ministry, Mrs. Henrietta Basil-Ideh , observed that the present administration has created a lasting business friendly environment to attract investors in the state.

Also speaking, the Director General Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Mr. Austin Okafor , maintained that the country is fast developing with indigenous products to compete with developed countries.

He said a member of the small medium enterprise, has been nominated to represent the state for the promotion of goods and services in Paris.

On his part, an Administrative Officer, Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Mr. Emeka Okolo, who underscored the relevance of the day in the promotion of trade and commerce, said the state under the present administration has transformed Agriculture through ASBA and relevant agencies as the vehicle for development.

In a remark, the chairman Trade Fair Planning Committee, Sir Chris Ukachukwu stressed that the organised private sector has enough to contribute in the socio economic development of the state.

He among other things, noted that the Trade Fair has provided a platform for direct contact with industrialists and appreciated the partners and the state government for the mobilization and support.

Exhibition of Indigenous products featured at the event , while cultural dance added colour to the occasion.
