The Anambra State House of Assembly has passed the 2019 Appropriation bill of One hundred and fifty seven point one billion naira.
The House passed the appropriation bill during yesterday’s plenary.
The House passed the appropriation bill after it scaled second and third readings as well as committee of the whole House.
The Speaker, Barrister Rita Maduagwu read out the bill for passage while members of the House supported through voice vote.
Commenting on the budget, Barrister Maduagwu noted that with the passage of the 2019 Appropriation bill by the State legislature, the House has empowered the Executive Arm of the Government to continue to dispense good governance to various communities in the state and to
touch positively all sectors of the state economy for optimal productivity.
The Speaker commended members of the House for passing the 2019 Appropriation bill expeditiously, adding that they have exhibited an uncommon sacrifice to duty and fulfilled their promise to the people.
On his part, the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Chief Obinna Emeneka explained that 2019 Appropriation Bill which has its capital expenditure as ninety one point nine billion naira while the recurrent expenditure stood at sixty five point four billion naira will meet the vision of the present administration.
The House later adjourned sitting till Tuesday next week.
