Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Mrs. Rita Maduagwu, has urged legislator representing Ayamelum constituency to raise substantive motion on invasion of his constituency by Fulani herdsmen.

Mrs. Maduagwu said this at the hallowed chamber when the legislator, representing Ayamelum constituency, Mr. Uche Okafor, urged the state government to secure the lives and property of his constituents.

Mr. Okafor reported that Fulani herdsmen invaded his constituency and destroyed people’s property including farmlands.

The Lawmaker explained that farming is sole occupation of his constituents, stressing that with the destruction of the farm produce,
his people would have nothing to celebrate the yuletide.

The Legislator noted that indigenes of Ayamelum were afraid of coming back to celebrate Christmas with their families because of the presence of Fulani herdsmen.

He, however, stressed the need for security agencies to be posted at strategic points to safeguard lives and property of Ndi Ayamelum.
Meanwhile, member representing Ekwusigo constituency, Mr. Onyebuchi Offor, commended Governor Willie Obiano over inauguration of construction  of roads in his constituency.

Member representing Orumba North Constituency, Mr. Ugochukwu Romanus,
also called on the Governor to direct the Ministry of works to reconstruct the dilapidated roads in his constituency.
