Ndi Anambra have been encouraged to remain law abiding throughout the Christmas and new year celebrations.
The state Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke gave the encouragement during the Carol of nine lesson at Saint Monica’s Anglican Church Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka Council Area.
Deputy Governor Okeke who assured the state’s residents a hitch free Christmas and New Year celebrations, called on them to help in maintaining the state’s security status as the safest state in the country, saying that the Obiano government remains committed to ensuring the security of lives and properties of the citizenry.
Dr. Okeke, also called on Christians to demonstrate the agape love that God showed in given His son Jesus Christ to the world by helping those they are better off.
Earlier in a sermon, the Parish Priest of Saint Monica’s Anglican Church Enugwu-Ukwu, Reverend Emmanuel Ogboh reminded Christians of the real essence of the celebration which according to him is the commemoration of the birth of the saviour of the world, urging all to use the season to reconcile with God and make Jesus Christ their personal lord and saviour.
Reverend Ogboh regretted that many use this season to commit all sorts of evil which contradicts the purpose of the celebration, and cautioned Christians against such acts.
