Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, and founder of the NGO, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFÉ), Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) has called for the sustenance of selfless giving by Ndi Anambra and Nigerians during and beyond the festive period in furtherance of the teaching to be our neighbour’s keeper.

Mrs Obiano made the call in her Christmas message in Awka signed by Chief Media Officer, Emeka Ozumba. According to her, giving is an art to those who are selfless which should be imbibed by all.

Said she: ‘’ As Christmas ushers the practice of giving and sharing within the community, I am of the view that it should be sustained throughout the year. It is common these days for some to give with the expectation to receive, that is wrong; rather we should give without expecting anything in return because it is sacrificial and ensures that goodwill goes round to the haves and have nots.’’

Mrs Obiano who is an advocate of Saint Mother Theresa’s call to ‘’ Give but give until it hurts, ‘’said that people should not give what they don’t have but can part with what they need in the interest of others who need it most. She called for charitable living so as to promote amity and oneness among neighbours and ultimately peace and progress in the society.

The founder of CAFÉ said that she is committed in the New Year to the objective of making her NGO the beacon of sustainable empowerment beyond the 4,350 indigent women, widows and youths already trained and equipped for business, but also in promoting the well-being of the less privileged and the whole family.
